Visit from my Aunt & heading into Autumn

First off – finally got around to trying the sushi maker that Maaike got me for my birthday (no self interest I swear ;))

Actually worked really well… Anna was completely convinced that we should do this all the time.

My Aunt came down for a visit. Lovely to see her. We mostly chilled out. Going to the Lyttelton market and picking up some passion fruit was a highlight! I love passionfruit.

Also took my cheese scone recipe for a spin…

RECIPE: FEDERAL DINER CHEESE SCONES
Makes 12
Preparation 5 minutes / Cooking 15 minutes

500g tasty cheese, grated
600g buttermilk
½ teaspoon salt
pinch of cayenne pepper
600g self-raising flour

Preheat the oven to 180°C and line a large
baking tray (or 2) with baking paper.

Absolutely yum fresh out of the oven.

And, took a picture at this months’ Ruby meetup… the meetup has just been running nicely for the last few years, it’s always a highlight of the month.
