It has been far too long since I actually managed to get out of ChCh for the weekend.. so when my friend Fergus invited me to Lake Coleridge (an hours drive from ChCh) I decided to head along for the trip.
It’s a beautiful lake surrounded by hills and mountains – glacial fed I imagine with colour like it has? They also have a hydro plant there.. I wonder how often the horses get fried?

On the way back the following day we stopped off in Horarata for a pie (so good) and tried out their mini golf. It was probably the funniest mini golf course I have ever been on – seeing as it was really just a grassy field. Still, at $2 a pop it didn’t exactly break the bank!
