So, finally happened, knocked off my bike . Not the first time (or the second) and again, not my fault (never is ;) Seriously though, the drivers over here are bad. Really bad. Dublin is way busier, but the drivers are way better. I think the main thing is that they *never* look in their mirrors when they open their doors.

So I was cycling merrily to work, not fast as I don’t like to get too hot cycling …. and I was passing this school when a – I dunno – 14/15 year old opened her passenger door straight into me. I think she was more scared than me.. kept on asking me if I was ok… Her dad got out of the car, and he was pretty blase about it all. I should have taken his name and number, but I guess I wasn’t really hurt at all.. nor the bike.. so went on my way. Still, I’ve been expecting it to happen for a while now.

The other phenomenon here are boy racers. Really must take some pics of these people.. almost ever second car has either a large / double exhaust. They’re not usually powerful cars, but they make a huge amount of noise. Quite funny, except they seem to feel the need to drive really close behind you…

So – first week in work on the phones – nay bother. It’s only informational for the government so easy really. No kite surfing, again the wind is wrong.. made a fairly yum choc desert too last night..

200G Bournville

1 capfull of rum essence

4 eggs.

Step 1: Separate eggs and beat the whites until stiff

Step 2: Melt choc

Step 3: Beat yolks and add essence in.

Step 4: As you beat the yolks mix in the choc in stages, and beat a lot!

Step 5: Give whites another whisk and then fold in to the choc/yolk mixture

It’s quite yum, course there’s a chance of salmonella but it’s pretty remote, and well worth it (1 in 20,000 ish)

Not getting away for the weekend, frickin’ bike got another puncture so fixing that, maybe get some climbing done if the weather is up to it…
